Summary

I am a highly experienced (over 4 decades) clinical social worker with diverse clinical interests and a unique career background that began in college mental health (Columbia University’s main campus). Even my work at Columbia, which evolved into an extensive career, was diverse and gave me expertise in a number of areas, including focused short-term treatment, risk assessment, and coordination with services in the community. I enjoy writing professionally and am currently working on a book for children with an adoption theme.

Other areas of my diverse interests include advocacy for specific systemic improvements: the provision by colleges of an optional insurance plan with adequate mental health benefits; reform in foster care and adoption; a children’s bill of rights; humane legal standards protecting families in custody litigation; sociopolitical prioritizing of the protection and sustainability of our fragile planet.
